You figure that you would be keen on your golf more if you lowered your handicap?I know how you feel. No matter how low my handicap gets I will always want it to be lower.
If you desire to trim your handicap you merely have to shoot lower scores than you currently do! It’s really quite simple.
But what is the secret?
Most players would be working on how to improve your golf swing, or how to hit a golf ball further. However there is a simple technique than many never consider.
I heard the most fantastic tip of all time that assisted me take seven shots off my handicap in one year and I will share it with you. This tip might do the same for you so make certain you pay attention.
You have to modify the way you consider your shots when standing at the tee box.
What does that really mean? Well lets create a few assumptions so I can present an example.
The club you feel most comfortable with is your 8 iron which you hit 140 meters. You can hit your driver 250 meters. You are playing a hole that is par 4 and 330 meters.
Without thinking, most players will walk up to the tee and take their driver out from the bag. They go ahead and play their shot some 250 meters down the fairway and leave themselves a three quarter wedge shot from 80 meters. It’s a testing shot that can easily go past the hole or finish well short.
Stand on the Tee and calculate how far you have to hit the ball off the Tee if you are to leave yourself 140 meters and your preferred 8 iron into the green.
You might hit your 3 iron rather than the driver as you only want to progress 190 meters. Then you’ll be left with a shot that you feel very comfortable with, and your favourite club in your hand.
Now this might seem to be a straight forward thing to do and maybe it seems so simple it’s never going to work. But trust me it certainly does work and if you start to do this you will see your scores start to come down.
